Raineri, Ashley

Ashley Raineri

President

As a founding partner and President, Ashley has built the company to be a technology-driven organization, focusing on operational efficiencies, industry-leading processes, and solid financial controls and reporting.  Under her leadership, Raineri Construction has become one of the most highly respected and financially responsible businesses in the industry with an unrivaled financial capacity for such a young company.

Ashley is a firm believer in always learning and growing and investing her time in continuing education.  In 2015, Ashley earned the Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP®) designation, an accreditation of specialized knowledge for a Financial Manager working in the construction field. She continues to build her knowledge and growth through active participation in the Construction Finance Management Association (CFMA).

Ashley is an avid dog lover and gives back to the animal rescue community through her involvement with Stray Rescue of St. Louis. She believes in supporting her community, and has done so by serving as a board member on local commercial district organizations, including as a founding member of the Macklind Business District.

In her free time, Ashley enjoys reading, bicycling, and spending time with her husband and their dogs.

Anthony (Tony) Raineri 

Anthony (Tony) Raineri 

Executive Vice President

As a principal partner and the Executive Vice President for Raineri Construction, Tony is responsible for creating and implementing the processes and procedures that drive the pre-construction, project management, equipment management and field operations aspects of the business.  Tony also pursues, develops, and negotiates new business, and has an ongoing list of client and trade partner relationships that he maintains.

Tony co-founded Raineri Construction in 2003 with a focus on creating a creative, efficient, and effective construction firm. With an emphasis on technology, he has developed strong and successful relationships within the industry and Raineri is currently leading the market in strategic growth and cost control.

Under Tony’s direction, the company has continued to evolve into a multi-faceted construction firm with a wide variety of project experience.

Tony is an avid aviation enthusiast and private pilot and enjoys playing ice hockey, running, and spending time at the Lake with his Wife and dogs.

Ada Brown 

Ada Brown 

Vice President - Civil Construction

As Vice President of Civil Construction, Ada oversees the civil construction division within Raineri. He is responsible for the overall operations of civil construction and manages his team from a high level to ensure that all aspects of the division are running smoothly.  Ada is excellent at setting production goals and leading his team to achieving them. His client and trade partner relationships are the keys to the group’s success.  Ada is highly respected by his team and has an excellent reputation in the industry. 

Ada’s construction experience dates to 2003, when he moved from England to the St. Louis area. While completing his education with the Commercial Construction Estimating Institute, he worked in the industry as a project manager at a commercial general contracting firm and a specialty concrete subcontractor. Prior to entering the construction industry, he worked in the logistics field as an operations manager.

When not working, Ada enjoys bushcraft, off-grid hiking and camping, and European football.

Barry Ash

Barry Ash

Director – Building Construction

As Project Director of the Building Construction division, Barry oversees the operations team and guides them throughout the course of construction to ensure successful completion of every project. Barry is a relationship builder – he knows how important it is to a project’s success to have the whole team working collaboratively.

With 35 years of construction experience under his belt, Barry has the expertise to handle a wide range of commercial building projects. His project resume includes a large volume of multi-family and mixed-use developments, along with hospitality and institutional work. Barry appreciates the evolution of the construction industry over the course of his career, and embraces new technologies, particularly those that allow him to proactively manage project schedules and documentation and keep lines of communication flowing between all parties.

In his spare time Barry enjoys preparing and sharing meals for others to enjoy.

Bradley Plein

Director – Human Resources

Brad is a dynamic member of the Raineri team.  His primary function is Human Resources, where he focuses on recruitment, onboarding, employee benefits, and staff engagement & retention.  He also serves as in-house IT support for all things tech-related and takes the lead on planning epic Raineri company functions throughout the year.  He brings three decades of experience in talent management, team leadership, recruitment, retention, marketing, and sales to our team.

Prior to joining Raineri, Brad spent over a decade as a Regional Manager for a large global manufacturer, where he led a team of eight managers and 720 associates, across 17 states. In this role, he earned over a dozen sales and management awards.

Bradley enjoys being active in his community and has assisted local non-profit organizations in both a board member and volunteer capacity.

Chris Ortner

Chris Ortner

Operations Manager – Building Construction

As Operations Manager of Building Construction, Chris coordinates and oversees the safety program and the goals and expectations of Raineri field teams, including the superintendents and field staff. He is highly involved with project owners to ensure that all project objectives and milestones are met. His emphasis on a safe work environment has produced a Zero Lost Time incident rate during his tenure.

Chris’ background in civil engineering from the Army Corps of Engineers provided valuable experience that he’s applied to his work on the Raineri building operations team. Chris is certified in OSHA 30, Lead Awareness, and Respiratory Protection.

In his free time, Chris enjoys hunting, watching the Chiefs play football, and coaching his daughter’s softball team.

Ed Hanks

Ed Hanks

Operations Manager – Civil Construction 

As Operations Manager of Civil Construction, Ed coordinates and oversees all the civil field teams, including superintendents, crew foreman, and field staff. Each day, Ed manages resource assignments based on the project productivity goals and ensures that all work is completed safely and aligns with company and project quality control requirements.

Ed is an excellent resource for Raineri and provides support and training to the field management staff in executing the Raineri processes as well as mentorship on how to identify and resolve project conflicts quickly and efficiently.

Ed has been with Raineri for over 10 years and is actively engaged in the implementation and use of the most current technology.  He is a dedicated member of the team and highly motivated for success. 

Kim Larson

Kim Larson

Payroll and Compliance Manager

Kim serves as Raineri’s payroll and compliance manager. In this position, she is responsible for all internal payroll functions, including weekly employee payroll processing and reporting. She handles all certified payroll reporting and compliance, including review of subcontractors’ certified payroll reports for accuracy and compliance with Davis-Bacon and related federal and state requirements through verification of job classifications, wage and benefit rates and OSHA certification. 

Kim is also the dedicated contact for Raineri Construction to generate assistance and training to all subcontractors to ensure MBE, WBE, DBE & Section 3 compliance and monitoring is done appropriately. She is a vital part of the team who can always be relied upon to assist others. 

Kim’s construction industry experience spans the past 15+ years, and prior to that another 6+ years of accounting-related experience. After leaving a specialty subcontracting firm, Kim joined the Raineri team in 2012. Her superior work ethic and personable demeanor have allowed her to excel and tackle any challenges that may come her way. Subcontractor relationships are an important aspect of Kim’s role, and her prior experience working for a subcontractor provides the requisite insight to maintain quality relationships.

Billy Smith

Assistant Controller

Billy joined Raineri Construction with 15 years of financial experience. His background in financial research and analysis, with an emphasis on client relationships, makes him an invaluable asset to the Raineri accounting team. Billy is a team player who utilizes a straightforward and honest communication style in every interaction, which is critical in the highly complex process of construction accounting. 

Prior to Raineri, Billy served as an Assistant Vice President and Commercial Loan Officer for a regional bank, managing a portfolio of over 30 million dollars. His big picture mindset allowed him to successfully assist clients with their business operations. Billy brings the business acumen and analytical skills he honed as a Senior Financial Analyst managing over 100 million dollar-loan portfolios to Raineri projects, and its clients benefit from his problem-solving and critical thinking skills as he assists them in navigating the accounting aspect of their projects. 

Rachel Todd

Rachel Todd

Document Control Manager

As Document Control Manager, Rachel serves as the operational backbone of the company by overseeing the project engineering team, and through training and implementation of Raineri’s processes and procedures across the project operations team. In addition to this, she creates and manages project workflows to ensure tasks are being completed with a high level of efficiency and in accordance with project schedules. Her responsibilities include review of all external vendor commitments and change orders for compliance against the company’s policy and procedures, internal process and procedure review and improvement plan creation to improve workflow and create clear project goals for the team. Rachel also trains current and new employees on company software including Procore and Vista and creates and maintains global reporting across all projects for timely completion and issue resolution.

Rachel’s construction industry experience spans the past nine years, and prior to that another three years of management and accounting experience. Rachel’s keen eye for detail allows her to manage any task not only correctly, but efficiently & effectively. Rachel makes it a priority to create and maintain a lifelong relationship with coworkers, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.

Tyler Baumgarth

Project Manager – Building Construction

Tyler joined the Raineri team as a project engineer in 2022. As a key member of the project team responsible for heavy document organization and management, Tyler is extremely thorough in his analysis of the project documents and diligent in ensuring that all project requirements are met.

Tyler’s previous experience as a carpenter provides him the hands-on knowledge that he applies to his tasks as a project engineer. Tyler is a decision maker who helps guide the team based on the project specifications and keeps the information flowing to keep all parties informed. Tyler holds a bachelor’s degree from Missouri State University.

In his free time, Tyler enjoys playing golf and hockey, and is a St. Louis Blues enthusiast.

Mark Elbert

Superintendent – Building Construction

With over 30 years of experience, Mark is one of the most seasoned members of the Raineri team. Mark’s friendly demeanor and confidence in his decision-making build team collaboration and provide peace of mind to his clients.

As a craftsman, Mark is a top-notch trim carpenter. His decades-long career has provided the insight into the inner-workings of a building project, which gives him the foundation to create and execute meaningful and practical project strategies.

Mark is OSHA 30 certified, and holds his project team, including all internal and external members, accountable for upholding project safety.

In his free time, Mark is an avid cave enthusiast.

Tim Kile

Tim Kile

Assistant Project Manager – Civil Construction

Tim is a dedicated and detail-oriented construction professional at Raineri. After gaining experience on multiple successful projects working for another local firm, Tim started his career at Raineri as Project Engineer on the Civil Construction Operations team.   In 2022, Tim was promoted to Assistant Project Manager where he continues to further his experience and expand his knowledge. 

His jovial demeanor makes Tim an excellent fit with the company culture – he is very sociable and enjoyed by his co-workers.  Tim’s dedication to construction quality and safety makes him an asset to the team.

Prior to joining the Raineri team, he worked on the operations team at a large civil construction firm. Tim is OSHA 30 certified and MoDOT Certified in: Aggregate Technician, Soil Density, and Concrete Field/Advanced Concrete Strength. 

In his free time, Tim stays busy with his three kids and their sports and activities. He loves golf and barbecuing and is active in the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation community. 

Russ Kreis

Russ Kreis

Project Manager – Building Construction

Russ joined the Raineri team in 2021 as a superintendent and has recently been promoted to project manager in building construction. Russ completed his education at the Milwaukee School of Engineering and has over 24 years of experience as both a superintendent and project manager.

Russ’ extremely personable attitude builds collaboration among those around him, and he engages all project stakeholders in project decisions. His extensive building knowledge gives him the insight and understanding to assist in value engineering decisions without compromising quality. Russ drives production by managing his schedules, keeping everyone moving forward, and working cohesively.

Russ is OSHA 30 certified and committed to safety as the top priority on his job sites.

Adam Link

Project Manager – Building Construction

In his role as project manager, Adam is accountable to the entire project team, including both internal and external stakeholders. Adam’s amenable, but decisive, management style produces solid results that align with all parties’ goals for the project.

Adam started at a young age as a construction laborer, which provided a strong foundation for his growth.  His hands-on experience gained him the knowledge to create resolutions to every situation quickly and cost-effectively.  Over the course of 22 years, Adam has worked hard to move up in the industry, building his knowledge with each new role that he took on.

Adam is an integral part of the Raineri team, serving as a company ambassador through his relationships with clients, architects, and subcontractors, and working collaboratively to bring all his projects to a successful close.

Adam holds a bachelor’s degree in management and is OSHA 10 certified.

Charles Mashek

Charles (CJ) Mashek

Assistant Superintendent – Building Construction

Having been with Raineri since 2011, CJ started his career as a field carpenter and earned advancement to superintendent. With a solid base of extensive field experience under his belt, CJ understands the complicated process of sequencing building construction and applies that knowledge to the projects under his management. He easily adapts to new technologies that help him build his projects more efficiently and keep his clients in the loop about project progress.

CJ is a friendly face on every jobsite that he’s involved in and makes the construction process as smooth as possible for his clients. His amenable personality keeps the team in sync to move his projects to successful completion.

CJ is OSHA 30 certified and stays on top of safety on all his jobsites to ensure everyone makes it home safe every day.

Vaughn Mashek

Vaughn Mashek

Superintendent – Building Construction

Vaughn has more than two decades of experience scheduling, coordinating, and managing daily construction activities for various commercial and multifamily residential projects.  At Raineri, he ensures projects meet established completion dates and construction documents, while consistently analyzing and monitoring quality control. 

Vaughn is the most tenured member of the Raineri team, having been around almost from the beginning, and has grown with the company, starting as a carpenter, and transitioning into the superintendent role.  Vaughn adapts easily to the use of advanced technology that is a key component of the Raineri approach. He is well liked by his co-workers and project team members and leads by example to everyone around him. 

Vaughn is certified in OSHA 30, Respiratory Protection, CPR, Aerial Lift operation, and Lull/Forklift operation.

In his free time, Vaughn enjoys spending time with his family and is always tinkering on various personal projects.


Fun fact: twins run in Vaughn’s family – not only does he have a twin brother, but he also has twin sons.

Bob Moske

Bob Moske

Pre-Construction Estimator – Building Construction 

With an impressive 38 years of experience under his belt, Bob is a seasoned pre-construction estimator who has been involved in a multitude of project types. In his role, Bob performs detailed quantity take-offs for the scheduled work, estimates self-perform tasks, and garners participation from the subcontractor community.  Bob’s involvement in a project begins early on with a conceptual cost analysis, through to development of a final estimate and continues throughout the project procurement to ensure successful execution.

Bob has a plethora of experience working with project owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors to identify and resolve technical matters during the design and estimating phase of a project, allowing for a smooth transition to the operations team.

In his free time, Bob enjoys spending time watching his two daughters play high school sports.

Jim Nettles

Superintendent – Building Construction

Jim brings over 30 years of experience as a carpenter and superintendent to the team. He started with Raineri as a superintendent in the building division and has been involved with very complex projects from institutional to historic mixed use and multifamily residential.

His vast knowledge of complicated building systems and design make him a great fit in a superintendent role. Jim understands the need to drive a project schedule and organizes the sequencing very well. His experience in a wide range of project types makes his overall experience and industry knowledge unrivaled.

Jim is OSHA 30 certified and has completed a plethora of safety and industry-related training courses throughout his career. He is a certified aerial lift operator and scaffold builder.

Damian Vinson

Assistant Superintendent – Building Construction

Damian has been in the trades since 2010 and started with Raineri in 2019. As both a hands-on tradesman in the field, and a manager overseeing a team, Damian has comprehensive experience sequencing and coordinating project schedules, resolving conflict, motivating his team, and overseeing site safety.

Damian’s proactive review of project scope and contract documents gives him significant insight and forethought into the project plan, and his use of technology to manage processes drives project success. Damian is OSHA 30 certified.

Chad Reed

Chad Reed

Superintendent – Building Construction

As Project Superintendent, Chad oversees all aspects of project planning and execution and brings over two decades of construction experience to the team.  His dedication and integrity instill a sense of trust with all of his clients, co-workers, and trade partners.

Chad’s comprehensive industry knowledge ranges from contract management, project accounting and cost control, to a vast array of experience in construction means and methods of project delivery.  Prior to joining Raineri, Chad owned and operated a commercial general contracting company.  Chad initially studied accounting but later realized that construction brought a sense of accomplishment with every project that he touched, but the foundational knowledge gained in his early studies provided a clear advantage in his understanding and ability to control project costs.

Chad enjoys utilizing the best technology in the industry to its fullest extent.  He is also a great team builder and maintains very close relationships with his co-workers and industry peers.

In his free time, Chad enjoys playing disc golf with his sons.

Michael Riehl

Senior Pre-Construction Estimator – Building Construction

As the Senior Preconstruction Estimator, Mike brings an in-depth understanding of client needs, excellent experience seeing an estimate through to completion, and team resource requirement analysis to Raineri. Mike uses interpersonal and communication skills daily as he navigates between gathering information from clients and team members. He is one of the first points of contact in a project and is essential in developing the bid estimate, determining and communicating risks within contracts, analyzing resource needs, and ensuring that the transition to the Project Manager is seamless.

Mike possesses over three decades of experience in the residential and commercial building industry.  He is familiar with the construction process from initial design through estimation and bid acquisition, material procurement and logistics to scheduling of crews and coordination of architects, engineers, and inspectors.

Mike likes to travel, catch Cards and Blues games, and enjoys trivia nights.

Bret Zlatnik

Senior Project Manager – Building Construction

Bret has spent three decades in the commercial construction industry in a variety of positions including Project Engineer, Estimator, Project Manager, Senior Project Manager, and Regional Manager. These positions provided him with a vast range of experience in preconstruction and construction management, field management and coordination, quality control, cost and budget management, and contract administration. 

His focus on each project he works on is communication, which he believes to be essential to team dynamics and a project’s successful completion. 

Bret’s experience spans a wide array of project types, including federal, multi-family, retail, and industrial. Throughout his tenure, Bret has been an adaptive user of new technologies, combining his extensive experience with the most up-to-date construction methods and resources.

Rachel Simon

Project Engineer – Building Construction

Rachel is an experienced project engineer in the construction industry and brought her skillset to Raineri in 2019.

Prior to joining the team, Rachel worked for a commercial building firm where she managed multi-million-dollar projects for several apartment developments, retirement communities, numerous tenant improvements, and industrial renovations. In this role, she was responsible for managing and maintaining project documentation, monitoring quality control, updating plans, and procuring materials. 

Rachel also worked as a project engineer and project controls coordinator on a local joint venture that completed the $550 million WUMC BJC Campus renewal project. 

Rachel holds a master’s degree in construction management from Washington University, St. Louis and is OSHA 30 certified. 

In her free time, Rachel enjoys working out.
