St. Louis, MO – September 8, 2015 – Raineri Construction, a leading full-service general building contractor focused on lean management principles, recently completed construction of a new southbound left-turn lane at Edgar Road and Garden Avenue, a project that was a collaborative effort with Webster University.
The left-turn lane was a condition enacted by the City of Webster Groves for Webster University’s proposal to expand its parking garage. The garage expansion was needed to meet the City’s parking requirements for a new science building. The parking garage and science building are part of the University’s multi-year Master Plan.
Raineri Construction was contracted to improve the road in time for the new academic year. “We were called to help with improving the traffic flow by adding a new left-turn lane,” commented Anthony Raineri, director of business development at Raineri Construction. “Within a very short timeframe, we not only completed the project but ensured the new parking spaces in front of the library met all ADA requirements,” he added.
“Each of these projects hold significance for Webster’s future,” said Julian Schuster, the provost, senior vice president and chief operating officer at Webster University. “The turn lane leads to the parking garage. The parking garage and the electrical substation lead to the future Interdisciplinary Science Building, all vital elements of our 2012 Comprehensive Master Plan,” he concluded.
This project is one of 12 civil projects either recently completed or currently underway by Raineri throughout the metro area. Other Raineri projects range from large industrial and commercial to retail, historical renovation, and educational markets.
